Lisa Brennan-Jobs & Natalie Portman
Actress Natalie Portman is the latest name to be thrown in the mix of potential stars in the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic written by Aaron Sorkin. The information comes courtesy of Deadline, which reports that Portman is “in talks to join” the project in a leading role although the specific character is unknown. It’s possible Natalie Portman is being considered to portray Steve Jobs’ daughter Lisa Brennan-Jobs. Portman has starred in roles in various films including V for Vendetta, Black Swan, and Marvel’s recent Thor movies.
Aside from Portman, several other big name actors and actresses have been reported to be involved with the upcoming Jobs biopic.
Michael Fassbender of X-Men and Inglorious Bastards fame is the latest actor said to be playing the role of Steve Jobs in the film, although Christian Bale was previously confirmed by Sorkin to be taking the role but dropped out. Before Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio was expected to take the lead role but also reportedly declined.
Actor Seth Rogen is currently expected to play the role of Apple’s other co-founder, Steve Wozniak, according to the latest reports.
The film also saw its director move from David Fincher to Danny Boyle since its been in the works. Perhaps the most notable change of late has been the studio swap as Deadline recently reported Sony Pictures sold the rights to the film to Universal Pictures.
While Portman’s potential role is unknown (probably Steve’s daughter Lisa), Sorkin has described the film adaption of Walter Isaacson’s official Steve Jobs biography as three, pre-keynote scenes taking place before major product launches.
