Today, Lenovo owned Motorola launched its first notched display smartphone in China at the launch event, called Motorola P30. This is a new midrange P-series smartphone comes with decent specifications with the pretty good design. Yesterday, the phone listed on the company’s official China website, now Motorola started taking pre-orders of the phone. The P30 smartphone comes with dual camera sensors and Snapdragon 636 SoC.
Motorola P30 midrange smartphone comes with the 2.5D Glass panel on the back as well as on the front side of the phone. It has a metal frame. The company used high-purity polysilicon powder in high temperature by vacuum to make the glass for the phone. The back glass penal passes through the 30+ processes. The body dimensions of the phone are 155.5 x 75.95 x 7.69mm and it weighs 170 grams. It is available in Ice Jade White, Bright Black and color gradient Aurora color options.
Motorola’s latest midrange smartphone feature with 6.2-inch IPS LCD display that supports 2246 x 1080 pixels of resolution and offers 19:9 aspect ratio. It has a notch design on the top of the display that carries a selfie camera and other sensors. It comes with around 82% screen to body ratio and supports around 402 PPI density. The phone powered by Octa-core Kryo 260 CPU under the hood which clocks at 1.8 GHz along with Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636. It has Adreno 509 GPU on board that will deliver better graphics experience while playing games and watching movies.
The p30 comes with 6 GB of RAM on board and two memory variants 64 GB and 128 GB internal storage. Both the variants have micro SD card slot on board that supports 256 GB external storage if you need some more room for photos, apps and files. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box along with ZUI 4.0 running on top. It packed with Non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh capacity battery inside the body. The phone comes with 18W fast charging charger feature and the p30 will deliver 8 hours battery back up by charging it for only 15 minutes, claimed by the company.
The phone has vertically placed dual camera sensors on the back side just like the Apple’s iPhone X. Both the rear camera sensors developed by OmniVision. There are a 16-megapixel OV16Bmain camera with f/1.8 aperture and secondary 5-megapixel OV5675 camera with f/2.2 aperture. The dual rear cameras of the phone also have dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, HDR, 1080p video shooting, background blur, panorama photo, professional mode and portrait mode. On the front side, there is a 12-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.25 um pixel size for selfies and video calls. The camera app of the P30 supports AI features that allows you to take pictures with bokeh effect by selfie camera. Other features of the frontal snapper include AR camera and wide-angle selfie.
In terms of connectivity. the phone comes with hybrid SIM slot, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and more. There is a 3.5 mm audio jack port on the top side, on the bottom, there is a Micro USB Type-C port between two speaker grilles. There is a fingerprint scanner present on the back panel of the phone and marked with the Motorola M logo. The phone also supports a facial recognition feature to unlock the phone. It also comes with other features such as Dolby sound output and game mode. The Motorola P30 has a distance sensor, light sensor, an acceleration sensor, gyroscope and e-Compass sensors support.
The company launched the Motorola P30 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage model at 2,099 Yuan (~$303) price tag. The 64 GB model is available in Ice Jade Whit and Bright Black color options. The company already started taking pre=order of the phone in the Chinese market. The Motorola P30 will go on sale on September 15. However, there is no information regarding the phone global availability.
