Now, maybe you shouldn’t be so happy yet, as it will be a while for many devices to get the upgrade. If you’re lucky and you own, for example, a RAZR or a XOOM Family Edition, you’ll only have to wait for this year’s second quarter for the update to be rolled out. If, on the other hand, you have an Atrix 4G, Photon 4G, Atrix 2 or a Xyboard 8.2 or 10.1 tablet, you’ll have to wait your turn. And your turn will come sometime in the third quarter of the year. This data is for US users. Still, if you live in Canada, your RAZR will have Ice Cream Sandwich on it in the second quarter. Some good news for European users, too. The RAZR gets the upgrade in Q2, just like US and Canadian users’, and so does the Xoom WiFi only. Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition will get the upgrade in the third quarter. More details are to follow about many other devices, as the upgrade roadmap page is constantly updated, and that’s also where you can get details if you come from another part of the planet. That same page tells you whether you’re one of the people whose device will remain on the current Android version. It was about time Motorola posted this very important news and I’m sure that updates will be coming much faster now that its acquisition by Google got the all-clear. In other Android-related news, Samsung has recently released the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, also running Ice Cream Sandwich.
