The design of Apple’s upcoming Campus 2’s main ring-style building is no secret. We’ve seen numerous images and renders of the spaceship-like building, as well as drone flyover videos to give us updates of construction progress. Now, Silicon Valley Business Journal has shared renders of some of the other building that be on Apple’s new campus.
The report notes that Apple today will seek architectural review for two small reception buildings, a handful of “outdoor food stations,” and a maintenance shed. While those certainly sound like pretty generic looking buildings, Apple has put its classic design touch on all of them.
In the paperwork, Apple says that the design of the reception buildings, for instance, is important because “their function is representative because they promote the face of the entire Campus.” The reception buildings reflect much of the design language that the main campus building features, including a primarily glass design while “details are reduced to a minimum and all structural elements, fixings and devices are well integrated and concealed into the building elements.”
The design of the food stands and maintenance are less flashy, as you might expect, but are generally of higher design quality than you would expect from such buildings.
The report adds that the city is asking Apple to make a few changes:

First, Cupertino planners asked Apple to relocate the site fence to provide a better “view corridor” to the main circular building from the Tantau Avenue reception structure. Also, staff recommends that the site fencing “shall be located such that landscaping, rather than the fence itself, would be the prominent visual feature.”
