Star of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Monique Samuels files counter-charges against Candiace Dillard. It looks as if it will be a bumpy road ahead for the two reality stars and fans are just hoping that the two can somehow work past their differences to continue to film.
The two aggressive housewives had been to peas in a pod when Dillard had become a member of the cast in the third season. However, in season 4, their close sisterhood fell apart, but both women seemed to patch up their feud during the reunion back in September. The two yelled and cried it out, ending with a genuine hug between the two. Now, however, something has gone very wrong within their friendship thanks to another physical altercation. The incident happened on October 16th with the two ladies while filming with the other cast members at a dinner party for the next season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. It was alleged that Samuels grabbed Dillard by her hair and dragged her to the ground.
Samuels had been accused by Dillard of second-degree assault but now is fighting back against the alleged charges. According to the District Court of Montgomery County in Maryland Dillard had now been charged with second-degree assault against Samuels. People, who originally obtained the summons, reported that the 36-year-old filed a complaint directly with the court’s commissioner on Thursday. After filing charges on November 14th, the commissioner found that there was probable cause in the mother of three’s complaint and issued a summons for Dillard to appear in court on February 6, 2020.
On November 7th, Dillard filed her complaint with the court’s commissioner and Samuels must report to the court on December 23, 2019. In regard to both cases, if a judge decides that there is probable cause, both women can and would be arrested on the spot. A second-degree assault conviction would come with hard jail time as well. Samuels’ attorney released a statement, reading, “At this point in our investigation, we had no choice but to file this criminal summons case after several attempts to mediate this situation with Ms. Bassett were rejected by herself and her team.” While Dillard’s lawyer released a statement regarding the counterclaim:
Since Bravo cameras and film crew were there filming the physical altercation between the two women, it’s safe to say the footage may be in the fifth season. Fans will have to wait and see all of the drama play out on the next season of The Real Housewives of Potomac, where they will finally be able to see how much of the fight was Samuels or Dillard’s fault.
“I did not know innocent people filed counterclaims as a strategic move after we all know they have been charged and caught on video threatening and attacking our client! We gladly welcome seeing Mrs. Samuels in court! We pray she is presently getting some type of treatment for anger management! The video is very clear and my client and I have confirmed with the network that Mrs. Samuels was clearly the aggressor!”
